Last checkpoint was October 14: 27 sales, $704 gross, about $380 profit after cost on what had sold.
Eight days later the closet has 40 sales and $908.69 gross. Profit after cost on the sold column is $504.89. The month is still open. Live inventory is still a cost sitting on the rack.
October so far (Oct 1–22)
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Units sold | 40 |
| Gross | $908.69 |
| Average sale | $22.72 |
| Net after fees | $735.53 |
| Cost (sold items) | $240.62 |
| Profit after cost | $504.89 |
| Top platform | Poshmark |
Average sale keeps sliding. August and September held around $28. Through the 14th it was $26. Through the 22nd it is $22.72. More units, smaller tickets. That is the trade-off in this month’s receipt.
Net and profit leave out Whatnot SKUs 1307 and 1310 ($12 each) — no logged payout yet. When those land, the totals move a little.
Platform split
| Platform | Units | Gross | Net | Profit after cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Poshmark | 17 | $451.00 | $360.65 | $276.28 |
| Depop | 9 | $219.60 | $206.95 | $120.02 |
| eBay | 8 | $166.09 | $126.88 | $87.50 |
| Whatnot | 6 | $72.00 | $41.05* | $21.09* |
*Whatnot net/profit only include the 4 of 6 sales with logged payouts.
Poshmark is still the volume leader. That is a real shift from August and September, when eBay led both full months. Whatnot is on the board for the first time in these scorecards — small dollars, real units.
Pace vs the locked months
| Period | Units | Gross | ~Units/day | Avg sale |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| August (full, locked) | 34 | $952 | ~1.1 | ~$28 |
| September (full, locked) | 46 | $1,296 | ~1.5 | ~$28 |
| October (22 days) | 40 | $909 | ~1.8 | $22.72 |
At 1.82 sales/day, a full 31-day October projects around 56 sales, ~$1,280 gross, and ~$710 profit after cost — if pace and margins hold. That is a projection, not a lock.
Compared to the published full months: October is already past August’s unit count with nine days left, and on track to challenge September’s gross with a weaker average sale.
What is still open
| Metric | Result |
|---|---|
| Live items | 195 |
| Cost tied up in live stock | $1,089.43 |
| List value (priced live) | $5,418.93 |
| Live rows with no price | 15 |
| Hold | 3 items ($87.99 list) |
| Reshoot | 1 item ($34.99) |
| Staged | 1 item (no price yet) |
$504.89 profit after cost only covers what sold. It does not cancel $1,089 still sitting in the closet. Same rule as the mid-month post: sold profit and live cost are different columns.
Verdict
October through day 22 is ahead on units and daily pace, down on average sale, Poshmark-led, and not locked.
Would I rather be here than at the old $78 / underwater update? Yes.
Would I call the month closed? No — two Whatnot payouts are still missing, live cost is over a thousand dollars, and nine days can still change the story.
Next update is either a final-week checkpoint or the October lock: every sold SKU with a cost, fees in, profit last. Same process as August and September.
